Stool 60
Artek
Overview

Created in 1933 by Alvar Aalto, the iconic Stool 60 represents the essence of functionalist furniture design. The simple idea behind the stacking stool is based on three bent legs and a circular seat (also available in a four-legged version) The stool is another example of Aalto’s close working relationship with birch and shows his ability to create smooth curved wooden surfaces. The seat options include birch veneer, black linoleum, white laminate, or lacquered in white, black, orange, yellow, green or turquoise and there is also the option to upholster the seat in fabric or leather. The three legged frame is made from birch with either a natural, white or black lacquered finish.
