PH 5 + PH 50 Pendant Lamp
Louis Poulsen

The PH three-shade system was originally designed in 1926 by Poul Henningsen; he was the first person to pursue a scientific approach to light and used the logarithmic spiral to achieve an even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade. The PH 5 was introduced in 1958 in response to constant changes to the shape and size of incandescent bulbs, so Henningsen designed a PH fixture that can be used with any kind of light source. The PH 5 is available in a range of colour options and in 2008, the PH 50 was launched; a high-gloss version in new colours.
