Zappy was awarded with second place in the Green Product Award 2013/14 in the category of ‘Home Accessories’ and was honoured for its outstanding capabilities in terms of aesthetics, innovation and sustainability – a truly “living lamp”.
The pendant design was inspired by conifer cones from French pine forests and is carefully handmade with 90% natural FSC-certified wood that comes from European forests. Thanks to the production methods using modern laser technology, it’s possible to create the lamp in a very sustainable process, generating less than 2% waste.
The lamp is available in three wood variations: the ash veneer, which is characterised by a brighter tone and a higher light output, the oak veneer, which appears darker so that it brings out the natural structure of the wood, or the smoked oak veneer.
Zappy stands out with its very soft and inviting glow; the handmade lamp features delicate wooden panels and a detailed natural design that stands out as a focal point in any interior space. Characterised by a particularly high light yield, the cold illuminants are filtered through the ash or oak veneer panels, so that any indoor environment benefits from a particularly high luminous efficiency, without emitting a glare. The unusual shape, which is available in small or large dimensions, sits perfectly above large counters or tables and can even light up small or narrow spaces in any room design.
